Buller District: National and Conservation Parks
In Buller you’ll find some of the finest protected land that NZ has to offer. In the north, there’s Kahurangi National Park that sprawls all the way to Nelson. The Paparoa National Park was created in 1986 to protect the unique karst landscape full of towering cliffs and fissured rock swathed in a thick carpet of moss-dripping rainforest. In behind Reefton is the 209,000 hectare Victoria Forest Park which has many places suitable for 4WDs and mountainbikes.
