The Charleston Nile River Rainforest Train

Is a short interpretative train ride in open sided carriages through primeval rain forest.

The 90 minute return journey takes you in to the magnificent Nile River Canyon and passes through the “The Lost World” film site. From the upper “Soft Rock” Terminal you may take a short forest walk will take you to the Nile River Suspension Bridge.

Key Information:

• We provide: Transport to and from our Base in The Charleston Cavern on SH 6 in the township of Charleston.

• You provide: Warm clothing an overcoat and a camera.

• Suited: to everyone young and old

• Wheelchair access available

• All Trips Depart Daily: 9.00am, 11:30am & 2.00pm NZ Daylight Saving Hours - (10:00am & 12.30pm winter).

• Location: Our Base is in “The Charleston Hotel” alongside State Highway 6, halfway between Punakaiki and Westport. (Allow 20minutes ex Westport & 35minutes ex Punakaiki)

• Transport & Location: is provided to and from the Festival Site Railway Platform and our Base in “The Charleston Hotel”
