3. Adventure Caving

Is full on expedition style caving in small numbers in one of NZ’s most sporty caves. Participants explore an amazing labyrinth of cave complete with abseils, ladder climbs, squeezes, & crawls along cascading waterways.

Note that Adventure Caving is a challenging world class adventure suited only to those with a good mental attitude & in good physical condition. It is a full-on expedition style  caving adventure in a sporty cave system that was first discovered, explored and mapped by the principals of Underworld Adventures.

This is a full on participatory caving experience, overwhelming in nature and only visited by small numbers of active people.

Key Information:

• We provide: All Specialized clothing and equipment. Westport / Charleston Courtesy Coach, Drinks and Free Digital Images on all adventure activities.

• You provide: Swimmers and a towel for “Adventure Caving”.

• Suited: only to those with a good mental attitude & in good physical condition.

• All Trips Depart Daily: 9.00am, 11:30am & 2.00pm NZ Daylight Saving Hours - (10:00am & 12.30pm winter).

• Location: Our Base is in “The Charleston Hotel” alongside State Highway 6, halfway between Punakaiki and Westport. (Allow 20minutes ex Westport & 35minutes ex Punakaiki)   

• Transport & Location: is provided to and from our departure point at “The Charleston Hotel” on State Highway 6, Charleston from Westport and by arrangement for groups of 6 or more from Punakaiki.

• Cancellation Policy: Underworld Adventures reserves the right to cancel any trip due to inclement conditions. and will refund in full given 24hours notice or more.
