Easy Access off State Highway 6 from both directions

Coming from Nelson/Blenheim
Continue on State Highway 6 towards Greymouth and Punakaiki from the intersection 6km before Westport.
Fairburn Way is signposted on the right 18kms from this turn off.
You will pass Mitchell’s Gully Gold Mine on the left approximately 1km before reaching Fairburn Way.
Our emergency number 7555 is at the base of this sign.
(If you reach the Nile Bridge you have gone too far).

Coming from Greymouth
Continue on State Highway 6 until you arrive at Charleston (approx. 77kms).
Continue through the village for about 2km.
Cross the Nile River Bridge and Fairburn Way is a signposted road on your left off the main highway after Mays Road.

Once in Fairburn Way
You will see a PRIVATE ROAD sign.
Take the second drive on the left (you will see our directional sign here) and at the end of this drive you will see the house on the right.

The Waves Studio

Our contemporary house is located on a terrace set amidst native bush overlooking Nine Mile Beach, Charleston.

Enjoy the privacy of the natural setting, while you listen to the ocean and the birdsong from our large deck. Our house is fully equipped to a very high standard and sleeps four comfortably in 2 bedrooms, each with tiled en-suite, one with a large 2 person spa-bath. Lovely walks in nearby Paparoa National Park and a short drive to the Pancake Rocks.

The ultimate bush and beach escape – large, contemporary open plan 1 or 2 bedroom studio overlooking Nine Mile Beach, Charleston, surrounded by native bush offering plenty of privacy. The Waves Studio has all the comforts of home and more... dishwasher, woodburner (firewood supplied), full laundry, internal garage, fridge/freezer, BBQ, flat screen TV, DVD with a selection of DVDs, sound system, local maps/books and endless gas hot water for the very large 2 person spa bath. Complimentary toiletries are supplied. The house sleeps four comfortably, each sleeping area having its own tiled bathroom. (Second bedroom/bathroom is not accessed if only 2 guests staying). The large double-glazed sliders from both bedrooms and the living area open onto to a large sunny timber deck, affording panoramic views up the beach to Cape Foulwind. Westport, to the north, is a 20 minute drive away and Greymouth, to the south, is one hour on one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives. Safe swimming is a 5 minute walk away at the Nile Lagoon. Good fishing and surfing sites are nearby and there are lovely walks around Constant Bay and Paparoa National Park. The amazing limestone arches at Oparara Basin in the Kahurangi National Park are approximately 2 hours drive north and make a good day’s outing.  We have 2 mountain bikes available for the energetic! A great place to spend a celebratory weekend! The house is fully serviced between guests and detailed information, key safe location, PIN and directions are emailed when booking is fully paid.
