Gentle Annie is a wonderful place to base yourself while exploring the wonders that the northern Buller region has to offer. We are within an hour from many scenic attractions of the Northern Buller Region - north to Kahurangi National Park, Heaphy Track, Oparara Valley with it's Limestone Arches and Honeycomb Caves; and south to Charming Creek Walkway, Denniston Plateau, Cape Foulwind Seal Colony and Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. The region maintains much of its eccentricity and wilderness, offering an opportunity to get close to nature. If you're a botanist, geologist, artist, beachcomber, fisherman, kayaker, cyclist, tramper and/or adventurer at heart, Gentle-Annie is a natural destination for you.
We have sit-on-top kayaks for hire and great fishing all year round for trout, kahawai, whitebait and snapper. Immerse yourself in the many walks on or nearby Gentle Annie, including the Chasm and Charming Creek Walkways, our local glowworm tunnel, and the start of the Heaphy Track. Activities include; low ropes course, mountain biking, swimming, surfing and fossicking along the beach for gemstones and driftwood. Enjoy a bonfire on the beach, be dazzled by the local sunsets, native bird song, river, surf, and bush. Gentle Annie is a truly magnificent place to stay.
