Broadway Tearooms and Bakery

An historic tearooms & bakery operating since the 1870s, we open daily from 6am seven days a week.

Catering for locals and visitors there is a good variety of food, meals and coffee!

Our tearooms and bakery have been part of Reefton since its beginnings. Opening in around 1874, it has served the miners and their families for over 130 years.

Today it's a busy place catering for locals, visitors and travelling business people.

We're open daily from 6am and along with a good range of pre-prepared hot, cold and sweet foods, a full breakfast and lunch menu is on offer. 

Our coffee is a large drawcard.  We use Hummingbird's Oomph, a fair trade organic espresso with a great lingering aftertaste.

Our ever increasing range of tasty, meat fulled pies are also attracting people to our shop, our latest pies being a gourmet steak, bacon and mushroom and satay chicken.

We have two full-time bakers and two part-time baker assistants who produce all our pies and pastry products, cakes and slices, our well-known homestyle shortbread, and fresh bread and buns daily.

Our shop currently has inside seating for 50 people inside and another 16 outside.  We regularly cater for groups both in our shop and at various venues around town. 

The Broadway Tearooms & Bakery is the starting point for 'Around the Globe' tours, and is a great spot for lunch before or coffee following a tour.
